Sick of Liz sucking all the DARE out of the room while you’re there, gasping for DARE? Tell us about it! The DARE-Salon will be your forum—it’s coming soon to Facebook.

In the meantime, please comment on this post. Share your own DARE(S)!

After all, if Liz didn’t DARE Start this post, her loving but sometimes vitriolic girlfriends would torment her, as they pressed her to prove herself. If she can DARE Start something new and scary in her 50s, SO can you. If she’s DARING enough to suffer giggles and critiques from her friends and family, who’ve heard her rant about this for nearly two years, so can YOU. And, if she’s DARING enough to pursue her own venture after two decades of a successful corporate career, YOU can, too!

It’s a good thing, considering that even the female CEO of a top-tier consulting firm melodramatically wrung her hands as she feigned concern that so many of her consultants over 50 “are of retirement age.” (We presume her corporate clients in trouble right now are getting advice from her 20-something hotshots?)

How DARE You? DARE IT BE SAID!

We LOVE all of you who took the time to respond to what a fulfilling start to 2009 might look like. We LOVE that you agree that visionary, intelligent, motivated women over 40 need and want information about how to enhance our personal lives, careers and communities - beyond the usual blather about Botox, bifocals, or the latest Blackberry. We especially LOVE those of you who said you read every word.

Be that as it may, those who know how blunt and self-deprecating I can be, also know that I obsess about constructive feedback. Several women – many of them my brazen but brilliant friends from marketing land - told me to provide better information about the services of The DARE-Force Corporation. They’re right. We’re building the service descriptions on this site, www.thedareforce.com, and we hope you’ll always feel free to e-mail us at thedareforce@gmail.com.

Here are just a few of the comments we LOVED: (Initials are to protect privacy.)

“You are the perfect cheerleader for the over 40 (50!) woman attempting to reinvent herself. Your warmth and true understanding communicate so well.” —DW

“Your timing is perfect. Over the past year I have been thinking about what I want to do with the remainder of my working years. I have realized I need to feel that I am touching lives and making a difference in either a small or big way.” —CR

“I am sooooooooooooooo happy and excited that you are doing this. What you are doing is so absolutely necessary for so many of us. I’m really happy to see you included the reference books. Sometimes, you just don’t know where to start.” —EP

Finally, we’d LOVE to hear from you…and you…and YOU, a lot!
