How To Find Your DRIVE This April

While some women over 40 might be tempted to think, “Stop the world, I want to get off,” millions of other women over 40 DARE to face down a hardship, adversity or crisis, and DRIVE their lives forward in the process.

Which are you?  I know – I too have wanted to stop the world from time to time. But I know that if we shove that thought aside, we find our DRIVE and DARE to develop and pursue new dreams and desires. We DARE to deal with obstacles that we were either born with or acquired (or got clobbered with when life does what life does).  We DARE to DRIVE our own lives to the destination of own design, with or without anyone else’s help.

Consider Kirstie Alley. Even in the face of obstacles and some lack of respect, she openly deals with her weight issues and DARES to “Dance with the Stars!” And really well at that! Or Christie Brinkley, who is growing older with grace and is garnering TV & Broadway credits and kudos.

April is a great month to find your DRIVE. This morning it actually feels like spring here in the Northeast.  Spring brings a natural motivation, a rebirth, a new start, and fresh enthusiasm. So, take a deep breath of warm spring air, and look inside at your longings, your dreams, your visions for your life.

Bottom-line: Before you get in the DRIVER’S seat, it’s essential to:

1)      Home in on your current dreams and desires. What do you long to do that you have not done? What activity do you enjoy where time stands still – you look up and three hours have gone by and you didn’t even realize you were hungry?

2)      Consider what you have to deal with now and in the future. Write it down, so you can review it and keep it in your mind. Your subconscious will work with it, and solutions and ideas will appear as if from nowhere.

3)      Determine your ultimate destination and what will get you there – a blueprint, the roadmap and design for your life. Picture the finish, the goal, and see yourself succeeding in exactly what you have envisioned.

Then, go out and DRIVE DARE!
